A Pandit (Sanskrit. पण्डित Pandita m) is an Indian religious scholar, therefore, a Brahmin, in later parlance as a general university- educated person. The title is also used for Hindu musicians of Indian classical music. On the other hand receive Islamic masters of music the title Ustad.
