Pane Sciocco

Pane sciocco [ ˌ pane ʃɔk ː o] (Italian for " bland bread " ) is a simple, baked, without salt wheat bread, traditionally round in shape ( bozza ) or baked in an oblong shape ( filone ). The absence of salt is due to the fact that the bland taste of this bread goes well with the spicy food. Pane sciocco is often used for bruschetta, called in Tuscany Fettunta.
