Pannonia Filmstudio

The Pannonia Film Studio ( Mafilm Pannonia ) is the largest animation studio in Hungary.

History

The animation department of the Hungarian film production was founded in 1951 by Gyula Macskássy and renamed in 1956 in Pannonia Film Studio. For more than three decades, the studio animated series and movies for the Hungarian and German television has produced. After the change of political system in 1990 in Hungary Pannonia Film Studio lost its monopoly position in the Hungarian animated production, and the Hungarian television company terminated the financing of the animated production. Nevertheless, the studio produced until 2004 even cartoons.
