Pantelimon, Ilfov

Pantelimon is a town in Ilfov County in Romania. The name refers to Saint Pantaleon.

Location

Pantelimon is located in the Lesser Wallachia by the river Tina Cole, directly on the eastern outskirts of Bucharest. The center of the Romanian capital is located about 10 km from pantelimon away.

History

The town was first mentioned in 1660. He stayed long pretty insignificant until about 1900 Bucharest since continued to expand and pantelimon was a suburb of the city. Traffic

Pantelimon lies south of the railway line Bucharest - Constanta. The pantelimon train station is, however, about 5 km from the city center. There are good bus connections to Bucharest.
