Paola Pivi

Paola Pivi (born 1971 in Milan ) is an Italian contemporary artist. She studied nuclear engineering, before she turned to the art and the Academia di Breara visited.

The artist designed objects and installations and held performances. They discussed absurd aspects of reality. She left in 1998 put a large truck on the side to represent a "different Snooze ". 1999, a battle plane was like a " defenseless insect" placed on its back. Pivi became known for a series of large-scale surrealist photographs, animals in unfamiliar surroundings show such as zebras in the snow or a bouquet or a donkey in a wooden boat on the sea. They staged the images under real circumstances, without having to tamper with the computer.

Pivi who lived on the island of Alicudi two years, even working on a project Alicudi. Target is a photograph of the island in real size. The existing part of this work is seen in exhibitions (eg, Basel 2007).

Solo exhibitions were held, inter alia, in Rome and Milan, London, Paris, San Francisco, New York, Havana, Shanghai and Tokyo.
