Your first big success came the then 15 -year-old in 1980 when she was Italian champion in combination. In the same year she won the bronze medal in the downhill at the Junior European Championships in 1980. In the next year she was second in the slalom at the 1981 European Junior Championship. At the Junior World Cup 1982 Magoni reached in Slalom, Giant Slalom and Downhill finishes among the top nine and secured the victory in the combined score. A month earlier, she participated already in the World Cup in Schladming, reached there but only the 29th place in the downhill. In the World Cup they drove on 10 December 1982 for the first time in the top ten, best result of the season was sixth place in Piancavallo on 17 December 1982. This result could at January 23, 1984 repeat in Limone Piemonte.
The biggest success of her career succeeded Magoni unexpectedly at the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo: The 19 - year-old won in front of the French Perrine pelen and Ursula Konzett from Liechtenstein superior to the gold medal in the slalom. On 14 January 1985, the Italian slalom Pfronten celebrated their only World Cup victory. A month later, she won the bronze medal in the slalom at the World Championships 1985 in Bormio. At the 1987 World Championships in Crans -Montana, they finished only 24th place in the giant slalom, slalom she fell in the first passage out.
