Paolo Cannavaro ( born June 26, 1981 in Naples) is an Italian football player.

Career

He plays at the position of central defender. He is the younger brother of Italy's World Cup captain Fabio Cannavaro. Since 2006, Paolo Cannavaro plays in Serie A during Napoli like his brother.

Cannavaro came in various Italian youth teams regularly used. In the Italian U-21 national team, he was set from 2002 to 2004 as a regular player and came to 18 international matches without scoring. He was previously Squadra Azzurra For once in the squad, came the international game on 17 October 2007 against South Africa under Roberto Donadoni but not used.

In December 2012, he has been locked due to its stake in the Italian betting scandal of the 2011/12 season, because of the misappropriation of a message to game manipulation, for 6 months. After the appeal hearing in January 2013 but the decision was rescinded.
