Paolo Cavara

Cavara Paolo ( born July 4, 1926 in Bologna, † August 7, 1982 in Rome ) was an Italian film director and screenwriter.

Life

Cavara began in the 1950s in the film as a documentary filmmaker; about 40 films by him are known from this period. In 1958 he was assistant director at Henry Koster and then worked with Gualtiero Jacopetti and Franco Prosperi in Mondo two films, which he contributed many seemingly documentary photographs; an approach that he, self-critical processed in his first feature film, the self-produced The Wild Eye 1967. In the following years and his later films, he turned to more commercial materials and celebrated Paure especially with his two Gialli La tarantola del ventre nero and È tanta huge audience. In his last years he devoted himself to television work and wrote two screenplays for films other.
