Paolo Negro

Paolo Negro ( born April 16, 1972 in Arzignano ) is a retired Italian footballer, who played during his playing career for FC Bologna, Brescia Calcio, SS Lazio and AC Siena in Serie A.

Career

Association

Paolo Negro began his career in the youth team of Brescia Calcio. In 1990, he signed with FC Bologna his first professional contract. In the Emilia Africans he managed after a short time the jump in the basic formation of the team and ran in two years in 49 league appearances for Bologna on. He then returned for a year to his youth club Brescia Calcio, for which he completed 26 games in Serie A and was able to score his first Profitor.

In the summer of 1993 he moved to Lazio. In Rome he was able to celebrate a number of successes with the team. In the season 1999/2000 he won the Italian championship with Lazio, in the years 1998, 2000 and 2004 he won the Coppa Italia with Lazio. He also won in 1999 with the club both the European Cup Winners' Cup and the UEFA Super Cup. The defender reached in the season 1997/98 with the team the final of the UEFA Cup, but failed to Inter Milan. He trained at Lazio until the summer of 2002, with Alessandro Nesta 's long-standing central defensive duo. With a total of 376 appearances for Lazio Negro is on the third place of eternal ranking of the association, only Giuseppe Favalli (401 inserts) and Giuseppe Wilson ( 394 inserts) disputed or more games for the club.

In 2005, he left after twelve successful years, the locals and signed a two year contract with AC Siena. With the Tuscans he made in the last two years of his professional career in the league, respectively, and completed another 50 games in which he was able to achieve four goals.

National

Negro was used in ten matches in the U -21 in Italy. He has played for the U -21 Football Championship in 1994 in the cadre of Italians and won with the team the tournament. The defender was also appointed to the Italian squad for Euro 2000 and used in the final group game against Sweden.
