Paolo Pulici

Paolo " Paolino " Pulici (* April 27, 1950 in Roncello ) is a former Italian footballer who was active during his playing career for AC Legnano, AC Torino, Udinese and Fiorentina. In addition, he completed 19 games for the Italian national football team. He is guided in the goalscorers list of Torino with 171 gates on the first rank.

Paolino Pulici began his career in the youth department of AC Legnano. In 1967, the attacker was recruited and committed of Serie A club AC Torino. His first success with the people of Turin was able to record the striker in 1971 when, after a goalless extra time penalty shoot the final of the Coppa Italia against AC Milan was recovered. After five years, even where he could not achieve more than five goals this season in the Italian championship in each case, he as a scorer ( capocannoniere ) was awarded by the 1972/73 season with a total of 17 goals for the first time. Gianni Rivera and Giuseppe Savoldi also get 17 Torerfolge, which three players were honored as Capocannonieri first and so far the only time in the history of Serie A.

After the 1974/75 and 1975/76 season Pulici ended the season as top scorer again and was again top scorer. He had laid the most successful of his career in the season 1975/76 when he scored 21 goals and with the AC Torino thanks to its goals won the Italian championship. The city rivals Juventus closed the season with two points from residue on the second place. The subsequent playtime spent the attacker in Torino and missed only because a point behind Juventus defending the title. Also in the following years Pulici placed with the team mostly on the front table stands, however, the performance of the team had in the last three years and strong after the relegation could each be ensured only with difficulty.

After 15 years in Turin in 1982, he moved to Udinese Calcio. There, he managed only a moderate season and scored only five goals for Udinese. In the following year Fiorentina took him under contract. The striker, however, had far exceeded this time to its zenith and scored three goals in two years only. In 1985, he ended his active career.

National

Pulici was first appointed in 1969 to the squad of the Italian U- 21 team for which he made his debut in the match against Hungary on November 1, 1969, was able to make a hit in a 2-1 victory. After he stayed in the following three operations without a goal, he scored on 5 May 1971 at the 5-2 victory over the Netherlands three goals for Italy. The attacker was summoned by coach Ferruccio Valcareggi in the Italian squad for the World Cup 1970.

During the course of the tournament, in which Italy after the final defeat against Brazil was runner-up, he was no use and made his debut on 31 March 1973 in the match against Luxembourg for the Italian national team. Also for the Football World Cup 1974 and Football World Cup 1978 were followed by a call to the tournament squad. However, although Pulici could convince the club, he never got in a major tournament for use. His last international game he played on September 23, 1978 against Turkey, the game was won 1-0.
