Papallacta

Papallacta is a village in the Ecuadorian province of Napo. It forms since 1921 a church ( Parroquia ) and belongs to Canton Quijos in the province of Napo.

Papallacta is located 60 km east of the capital Quito, lies on 3,300 meters above sea level and has about 800 inhabitants. From there it can be accessed via the same Papallacta Pass ( 4064 m high). The place is known for its thermal baths, which is about 300 meters lying at the mountainside, above the town.
