Papey is an island in eastern Iceland.

The island is about 2 square kilometers and rises to 58 meters above the sea level. Papey belongs to the municipality Djúpavogshreppur and is 8 km away from the place. The island was inhabited since the settlement of Iceland to the year 1966. Today there is a house, a lighthouse and a church. Since 1998, there is an automatic weather observation station.

The island is particularly interesting for bird observations, because there are tens of thousands of breeding pairs, especially the popular tourist puffins, some species of gulls and various ducks.
