Parabasis

Parabase (Greek for parade ), in the ancient Greek comedy usually in the middle of the piece is switched on, no relation to the fable of the same standing speech of the chorus to the audience; was von Platen in his satirical comedies ( " The romantic Oedipus ", etc.) also features in the German comedy of the 19th century.
