Parachutist Badge (Germany)

The parachutist badge of the Bundeswehr is a special badge as a function badge (such as the Transall or the CH -53) is awarded for a certain number of jumps with a parachute from the aircraft in the Bundeswehr. Jumps from other aircraft may be recognized.

Stage I in bronze is awarded after successful completion of the parachutist course at the Airborne and Air Transport School.

Levels

The Parachutist Badge is awarded in three stages:

  • Stage I - Bronze, after 5 hops
  • Level II - Silver, after 20 jumps
  • Stage III - Gold, after 50 jumps

Carrying method

After successful completion of the parachutist course, participants will receive a course proof of ownership is testimony to the special badges at the same time. The permission to wear the Parachutist Badge is issued with the registration and delivery of the military parachutist license. The parachutist badge is worn over the right breast pocket on the service uniform.
