The Fleckenhörnige neck block ( Paracorymbia maculicornis ) is a longhorn beetles of the subfamily of the narrow blocks ( Lepturinae ). Synonyms are Leptura maculicornis, Corymbia maculicornis and Stictoleptura maculicornis.

Description

The eight to ten millimeters in size type must be distinguished from the most similar Central European longhorn beetle species by the middle antennal segments yellowish ringed. The brownish elytra are blackened at the top. Only Stictoleptura hybrida has similarly colored sensor, but is larger and has no angedunkelten elytra tips.

Occurrence

The Fleckenhörnige neck Bock comes in France, Central and Northern Europe, the Balkans, the Urals and the Caucasus. In addition to the widespread Paracorymbia maculicornis maculicornis ( De Geer, 1775) lives a separate subspecies, Paracorymbia maculicornis ondreji ( Slama, 1993) in Greece. In Central Europe the species is montane documents usually not rare, but occurs also in the plane. Latest news missing only from Lower Saxony, Schleswig -Holstein and Brandenburg.

Way of life

The larva develops in two years mainly in coniferous, rare in hardwood. She lives in about 15 centimeters thick, rotten branches. From June to July fly the diurnal beetles. They are often found on flowers where they mate.
