Paracyprichromis nigripinnis

The animals of the genus Paracyprichromis belong to the family of cichlids ( Cichlidae ). All species of this genus live in the endemic Lake Tanganyika. There they are encountered in groups or individually in open water, rocky part walls. The Chichlidae this genus are mouth brooders.

Features

The name of the genus refers to the close relationship to the genus Cyprichromis. The species of the genus are stretched and only a little high backs. The species described are very similar and are difficult to tell apart. The animals are about 11 cm long, the females stay smaller.
