Paramedian pontine reticular formation

The pontine reticular formation paramediana (after the English name paramedian pontine reticular formation and pontine reticular formation paramedian, PPRF ) is a part of the reticular formation of the pons ( " bridge "), a part of the brainstem. The region includes the pontine gaze center and is used to control horizontal eye movements.

Diseases

Lesions of the PPRF cause horizontal gaze palsy.
