ParaView

ParaView is an open -source program that is used for scientific visualization. ParaView is based on the also developed by Kitware VTK visualization library.

A similar open source project is also based on VTK Visit.

History

The ParaView project was created as a joint development by Kitware and the Los Alamos National Laboratory. Its development was supported by the ASCI program of the U.S. Department of Energy. The first public version was released in October 2002.

In September 2005, Kitware with Sandia National Labs and other partners launched the development of ParaView 3.0, which was released in 2007.
