Parazoa

The tissue lots ( Parazoa ), Grant & Todd 1838, are a traditionally used taxon within the Animals ( Animalia ), which mainly consists of the sponges ( Porifera ). In addition to these, only the Placozoa with the sole type Trichoplax adhaerens are included. The similarities of tissue lots are, as the name implies, negatively defined primarily: by the absence of specialized nerve or muscle tissue, organs and any of basement membranes between connective tissue and epithelium.

Modern phylogenetic systematics, the two subordinate taxa no longer together.
