Pardisan Park

The Pardisan Park (Persian پارک جنگلی شهرک غرب Park -e Dschangali -ye Shahrak -e Gharb, literally: forest park of the small western town ) is a multifunctional landscaped park complex in the northwestern district Shahrak -e Gharb in Tehran. It is bordered by several highways and the district Mahmudabad. To the east of the park is the Milad Tower.

The park covers an area of ​​more than 270 acres and is primarily environmental exploration and education purposes with the aim to raise in an entertaining way, the enjoyment of visitors to the environment. The park contains a museum of biodiversity, a museum on game, a theater, several playgrounds and some other facilities.

In the park different animals live like the Pallas Cat, a small Asian cat whose name dates back to the naturalist Peter Simon Pallas, who first described it. According to Pallas is to assume that the Manul - like the cat is also called - is to be regarded as an ancestor of the Persians because of his long coat and flat face.
