Under lock and key is an American feature film comedy of the comedian duo Laurel & Hardy from the year 1931. This film was the first feature film of the duo and formed a sort of remake of the silent film The Executioner escaped ( The Second Hundred Years ) from the 1927. on German television, the film was titled " Laurel and Hardy in jail "

Action

Through a mishap Stan and Ollie are caught and imprisoned at the time of Prohibition, when liquor burning. However, they manage to escape and go into hiding for the time being at a cotton plantation. As a disguise they put on carbon black to make it look like there working African Americans. However, they are the good nature against the prison director, the passes happened to be there and at exactly that location 's car breaks down, undoing. Here Stan and Ollie want to go on a hunger strike, but what they can remain on tales of an attendant of juicy turkey steaks and strawberry tart yet. Meanwhile, the other convicts have planned a conspiracy: weapons being smuggled into their hands, and should now allow the outbreak. Stan and Ollie make it but to stop this conspiracy and to detain all prisoners again. In gratitude, they are released from prison.

  • The film was in the U.S. on August 15, 1931 premiere; Theatrical release in Austria and Germany was in April 1932.
