Pardue Peak

BWf1

The Pardue Peak is a 1840 m high peak in the Founders peaks that are a part of the West Antarctic Heritage Range, the southern part of Ellsworthgebirges. It is located on the ridge Smith Ridge in the far northeast of the Heritage Range. North of the Pardue peak begins the Minnesota Glacier, the west is an ice-covered highlands.

The Pardue peak was mapped by the United States Geological Survey as part of the compilation of Ellsworthgebirges in the years 1961-66 by site surveys and aerial photographs of the United States Navy. The U.S. Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named the summit after Lieutenant A. Michael Pardue, flight surgeon of the Navy Squadron VX- 6, which did service in Antarctica 1960/61.
