Parimarjan Negi

Pari Negi (born 9 February 1993 New Delhi ) is an Indian chess grandmaster with the title Grandmaster.

Negi learned the rules of chess than four and a half year old. He was U10 Asian champions in Tehran in 2002 and in 2003 he won the Commonwealth Championship U10. After he had met standards in Hoogeveen 2005, Dubai 2005, Spring 2005, he was appointed in April 2006 became the youngest International Master in the world. He scored grandmaster norms in Hastings 2005/ 06, while Parsvnath tournament in his hometown of New Delhi in January 2006 and concluded in Satka (Russia, Chelyabinsk region) in June 2006. He thus was at the age of 13 years and 142 days of the then youngest grandmaster in the world and replaced the Norwegian Magnus Carlsen. Negi is named after the Ukrainian Serhiy Karjakin 's second- youngest grandmaster in the history of chess. Negis trainers are Grandmaster Evgeny Vladimirov of Kazakhstan and the Indian International Master Vishal Sareen.

In May 2012, Negi won in Ho Chi Minh City the 11th Asian championship with 7 points from 9 games due to better classification ahead of the same point Yu Yangyi.
