Paris Bordone

Paris Bordone (* 1500 in Treviso, † January 19, 1570 or 1571 in Venice ) was a painter of the Venetian school.

Paris Bordone was a pupil of Titian, was appointed in 1538 by Francis I. to France, where he painted the King and the most distinguished men and women. Inundated with appreciation, he went 1540 Augsburg to Venice, where he died on January 19, 1570.

He was also active in Treviso, Vicenza, Crema, Genoa and Turin. In his numerous portraits, most of which are female particularly successful, he knows by the splendor and richness of coloring produce a charming effect, while it is often colorful and hard in large history paintings.
