Park Pobedy (Moscow Metro)

Park Pobedy (Russian Парк Победы pronunciation? / I literally Victory Park ) is a eröffneter on 6 May 2003 Metro Station, Moscow Metro on the Arbatsko - Pokrowskaja - line (or " line 3" called ).

Location

The station is located in the Western Administrative District of Moscow, just below the main road Kutusowski brochure that goes out of town to the highway M1. In the immediate vicinity of the station is the namesake for them, 1995 applied " Victory Park ", a large park as a monument to the 50th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet Union over Germany in World War II. Also near the station Park Pobedy is the Panorama Museum of the Battle of Borodino.

The station has been on only one exit in a pedestrian underpass under the Kutusowski Prospect of the leads on both sides of the road. From the opening until January 2008 was Park Pobedy the western terminus of the line, since the latter but was extended in this direction. The nearest train station towards the west is Slavyansky Bulwar, east facing it is the station Kievskaya.

Description

The platforms are located 74 meters below the surface, which makes Park Pobedy to present lowermost station in the Moscow metro network. The escalators leading from the intermediate level to one of the two platforms, are correspondingly long with 126 meters; they are considered the longest continuous escalator in the world. From the main hall, which is located at the level of the pedestrian underpass, to something deeper intermediate level lead others much shorter escalators.

The station has two separate platform halls with a total of four tracks, two of which are used at present. This feature goes back to now rejected plans for a new line, which should offer Platform same in Park Pobedy transfer facilities for Arbatsko - Pokrowskaja line. Trains to the west hold on the northern and trains in an easterly direction on the southern platform. Both platform halls are joined together with bridges over the tracks. The leading to the exit escalators are located at the western end of the South Hall; so who arrives from the Moscow center, reaches the output only on one of the bridges to the opposite platform hall.

Architecture

Both platform halls were designed relatively palatial. As it often is the case with stations of the Moscow Metro, the respective two track areas are separated from the central part of the hall by pylon series. The pylons and the walls of the tracks are covered with white and light brown marble checkerboard floor covering was carried out in gray and black granite.

The wall at the western end of the north hall and at the eastern end of the south hall is decorated with paintings, inspired by the location of the station between the Borodino Museum and Victory Park, thematically the victories of Russia in the war against Napoleon in 1812 and during World War II inspired are. Expansion plans
