Parker is a city in Collin County in the U.S. state of Texas in the United States. The town is one of the world famous Southfork Ranch, which served as the headquarters of the portrayed family Ewing in the television series Dallas.

Geography

The city is located in the northeast of Texas at Farm Road 2514 near the Maxwell Creek, is located in the north about 70 miles from Oklahoma and has a total area of 13.4 km ² without significant water surface.

Demographic data

According to the census of 2000, there were 1,379 people in 485 households, and 430 families. The population density was 102.6 inhabitants per km ². The racial the population was composed of 90.07 % White, 2.10 % African American, 0.94 % Native American, 1.38 % Asian, 0.07 % Pacific Islander residents from the and 3.05 % from other ethnic groups. Approximately 2.39% were of mixed descent, and 7.32 % of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

Of the 485 households 33.8 % had children under the age of 18 living with them. 83.5 % were married couples living together. 3.1% were single mothers and 11.3% were non-families. 8.2% of all households were single-person households and 2.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.84 and the average family size amounted to 2.99.

24.6% of the population were under 18 years old, 5.4 % from 18 to 24, 28.2% 25-44, 33.6 % from 45 to 64, and 8.2% who were 65 years or older. The average age was 41 years. For every 100 females of all ages were 104.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over 100.4 males.

The median income for a household was $ 101,786, and the median income for a family $ 108,560. Males have a median income of $ 72,344 versus $ 41,500 for females.
