Parno Graszt

Parno Graszt is a Roma folklore group from Paszab, Hungary. The group is dedicated to the authentic gypsy music.

" Parno Graszt " is Romani, meaning " White Horse " (the white color symbolizes purity and the horse freedom ). " Parno Graszt " was founded in 1987. They sing both Romani as well as Hungarian, in a song is often sung alternately and even simultaneously in both languages. In Paszab everyone can sing and dance, the core group are nearly ten musicians, but it is also played wher, her musical roots are the collected music of the region. A 10- member dance group often performs with the group. After publication of the first CD Rávágok a zongorára it is in October 2002 to seventh place in the European World Music charts (World Music Charts Europe ) climbed. On the initiative of the Hungarian BBC television in the years 2003/2004 has a film titled Parno Graszt: Holidays and everyday about the group shot (director: Sándor sillo, 2004, 58 minutes). The Swiss magazine has named Vibrations 2005 Parno Graszt one of the ten best music groups.
