Pärnu Linnameeskond

The Jalgpalliklubi Pärnu Vaprus is an Estonian football club from Pärnu and plays in the second division of the Estonian Esiliiga. The club colors are yellow and black.

General

The club was founded in early 1922. After the club played in the Soviet league only in the amateur leagues, he was successful after the disintegration of the state and the re-establishment of the Estonian Association. However, it was enough for the amateur club Vaprus Pärnu never for the promotion to the top or even the second highest class. 1999 Vaprus merged with the more successful local rivals FC Levadia Pärnu and could play later under the name Vaprus Pärnu in the first division. After the merger succeeded in 2002, the promotion to the top flight. After a decline in the following year, the club was able to play in the first division again, before 2008 the relegation place went to. In the relegation matches to Paid Linnameeskond prevailed, since the team plays again second-rate.

In 2011, the city of Pärnu decided together with the Estonian League Association for 3 to 5 years to engage in the infrastructure, such as the construction of an artificial turf field and the expansion of the youth department. In addition, the club name was changed to Pärnu Linnameeskond.
