Paroedura androyensis

Paroedura is a genus within the family of geckos.

Way of life

The animals are nocturnal soil, rock, or tree dwellers, mainly feed on insects. During the day they hide under bark, wood, stones or leaves.

Dissemination

Except for the type Paroedura sanctijohannis, which can be found in the Comoros, Paroedura occurs only on Madagascar and Nosy Bé. They colonize very different habitats. Paroedura picta lives in the arid south of Madagascar, while Paroedura stumpffii can be found in the rain forest of Nosy Bé.
