Parom

Parom (Russian Паром for ferry) is a planned by the Russian space company RKK Energia space tug. He is to replace the Progress cargo spacecraft that fly since 1978 space stations.

Mission Steps

The flight regime will differ from that of the Progress cargo. The spaceship is brought as a reusable tractor into a 200 km high orbit with a launcher. There it is to dock at later launched cargo containers or cargo spacecraft Kliper and bring this to the International Space Station.

Construction

Parom to be built around a pressurized tunnel connection with active coupling adapters at each end. Each of these coupling adapter can be used for coupling of cargo modules, the Space Shuttle Kliper, a space station or another spacecraft. The space tug has its own engines, cargo modules up to 30 tonnes mass, twice the mass of the largest of the Space Shuttle and Proton rocket placed into orbit modules that can move. In addition, fuel lines allow fuel from the cargo module to pump into the space ship or in the coupled space station.
