Parroquia San Francisco de Asís, Montevideo

The Iglesia de San Francisco de Asís is a building in the Uruguayan capital of Montevideo.

The projected 1865 and 1870 inaugurated Catholic church building is located in the Ciudad Vieja on Calle Cerrito, corner Solís. For the construction project Victor Rabu responsible, who won the year before facing competition for the construction of the church. The building itself initiated I. Pedrálbez. 1895 the tower was completed. In 2007, restoration work was carried out under the direction of architect F. Collet and D. Neri.

The 16 -meter-high, three-story building has a floor area of ​​1699 m² and is architecturally associated with the historical eclecticism; the influence of St- Sernin de Toulouse is palpable.
