Parrot Cay

Parrot Cay is a small island in the chain of the Western Caicos Islands. It belongs geopolitically to the British overseas territory of the Turks and Caicos Islands and is now privately owned.

The island is the easternmost of a group of about 20 flat sandy islands lying between the west coast of North Caicos and the northeast coast of Providenciales.

Parrot Cay is basically only of a hotel complex in the north. The private island for some time now as the vanishing point for celebrities of every stripe, hardly a People magazine, which has not yet reported on this 98000 square foot island. Among the visitors who rent a room in one of the posh beach huts for 4500-6000 U.S. dollars per night, include the Clintons, Paul McCartney, Ben Affleck and Robert De Niro Liam Neeson and Jessica Biel. Bruce Willis, who married on Parrot Cay, Keith Richards, Christy Brinkley and Donna Karan have even a private property - for $ 24,000 you can spend 24 hours in the palace of the New York fashion designer. The property, which is part of the hotel chain COMO Hotels and Resorts, renamed as Parrot Cay & COMO Shambhala Retreat and was at times to union Leading Hotels of the World, since 2013 it is called Parrot Cay By COMO, and it largely dispenses with Öffentlichkeitsmarkteing.

The south-eastern parts of the island are largely marshy; on the north and the west coast there are small beaches and smaller tourist facilities.
