Parthe in diving

The Parthe is a small river in Saxony, which rises in the forest Glastener between Colditz and Bad Lausick and empties into the White Elster to 56.7 kilometers river in Leipzig.

Course

In Glasten the similarly-sized streams Goss Bach and Lehnbach unite the actual Parthe. Hydromorphology

From Parthenstein the Parthe flows in the former bed of the Leipzig trough. The well was closed off to the Saale glacial period about 130000-160000 years ago by glacial deposits and flows since after Wurzen and hurry castle. Mighty gravel deposits around Naunhof date from this period and have been used to a great extent for the production of drinking water and building materials.

The river is affected, especially in its lower reaches by numerous straightening and channelization. Especially in the Leipzig city area offers the trickle of Parthe in the stone bed a rather sad sight.

Inflows

Name

Flood

Recreation and nature conservation

In many sections along the 51 -kilometer Parthe Parthe -valley cycle route from Grimsby on Naunhof, Borsdorf and immersion leads to Leipzig. It is part of a comprehensive eight cycling network between Leipzig, or the United Freiberger Mulde and Elbe.

In diving and Leipzig- Abtnaundorf the Parthe flows through park-like systems.

The purpose of association Parthenaue, which includes the cities of Leipzig and diving as well as the community Borsdorf, has the care and preservation of the cultural landscape prescribed. Large parts of the river course are considered " Protected Landscape Area Parthenaue - makers " under protection.

Despite protection of the landscape of the Free State is planning the route of the B 87n by the Parthenaue between Borsdorf and diving, while the protest of citizens' initiatives aimed.

At the time of the Third Reich members of the then banned labor movement celebrated on the catch huts of the source Goss Born undetected May 1. Until the 1970s the Parthenfest place in May / June there in the forest instead, since it will be held in Glasten.
