Particle density

The real density and skeletal density, called absolute or true density is the density of the material part of a body any physical state to take into account that without the volume possibly contained cavities:

  • Porous solids with the true density is determined by the material is crushed and milled until until its particles contain no pores ( see also tapped density ). The counterpart of the true density porous body is the bulk density, in their determination, the pore volume is received very well.
  • In heaps the true density results in grain analysis of weighing and extrapolation. The counterpart of the true density of heaps is the bulk density.
  • The true density of liquids or gases, the density of the main substance without dissolved fractions, suspended solids, bubbles or the like. Measurement is performed by allowing the sample to rest, sedimentation and degassing and precipitation reactions.
