Partido MAN

The Partido MAN is a company established in 1971 political party in Curaçao, which holds two of 21 seats in the Staten van Curaçao since the parliamentary elections in Curaçao in 2012. In the elections that preceded the dissolution of the Netherlands Antilles, the party also won two votes and joined the coalition government.

Name

MAN originally stood for Movementu Antia Nobo ( dt: Motion of the new West Indies ), but a party congress in 2005 decided to drop the meaning and to leave his own MAN the name of the party.

Netherlands Antilles

The Prime Minister of the Netherlands Antilles Don Martina from 1979 to 1984 and from 1986 to 1988 was MAN - connected. In the parliamentary elections in the Netherlands Antilles, 18 January 2002, the party won 5.2% of the vote and no seats in the 2006 parliamentary elections, the party returned to the Staten van de Nederlandse Antilles 3 out of 14 seats in the Curacao constituency seats in the 22 scoring Parliament. At the last legislative elections in the Netherlands Antilles in 2010, the party took part, together with the NPA and FK and won five seats.

In the Island Council of the Netherlands Antilles in 2003 and 2007, the party won 2 and 5 seats. The two seats of the party who were elected to the Island Council in 2010, were retained as part of the Staten van Curaçao on October 10, 2010.
