Partido

Partidos are in the Argentine province of Buenos Aires, the most senior administrative units below the provincial level.

The 135 partidos are in contrast to the so-called departments of other provinces of Argentina at the same time as municipios (about: communities ). They are divided into villages ( Localidades ), but have no independent administrative structure. The locality in which the office is located, is called cabecera.

Intendente stands (about: mayor) At the top of the management structure of the Partidos who exercises the executive. The Intendente appointed by the authorities of the localities in which the Partido is divided.

The legislative branch consists of the consejo deliberante ( Council of partidos ) with 6 to 24 members, depending on the population of the Partidos and the consejo escolar ( school board ) with 4 to 10 members. All organs are elected by popular vote every four years.
