Partille Municipality

Partille is a district in the metropolitan area of Gothenburg and part of the Tätorts Gothenburg, but has the status of a main place for the Swedish municipality of the same name.

Partille was a noble manor. Today, the European Route 20 and the railroad crossing from Gothenburg to Stockholm the settlement.

Manor Partille

The history of the manor house dates back to the 14th century. The existing manor was given by David af Sandeberg, the former director of the Swedish East India Company, in order. As an architect William Chambers is specified, but it is believed that the city architect of Gothenburg, Carl Wilhelm Carlberg, had larger share of the construction. The building is built three stories high, with Dutch tiles.

Railway station Partille

The station building was built in the mid-19th century as one of the 10 type models that Adolf W. Edelsvärd had designed for the Swedish State Railways. The lower floor contained the sales rooms, waiting rooms, a waxing room and staff apartments. The vestibule larger model was merged here with the waiting room for the 3rd class. The building has some picturesque attachments such as an asymmetrical construction with clock tower and Acroterion.

Events

  • The Partille Cup is one of the biggest handball tournaments in the world for youth teams and has been conducted annually since 1970. In 2006, 14,500 young people participated from 50 countries, which were distributed to 900 teams. In recent times, the games are also conducted in other parts of the city of Gothenburg.
  • Partillerocken is an annual competition for rock bands, which has existed since 1992. Many new bands achieve by hosting a higher level of awareness.
