Partimage

Partimage is a free user interface to (english Images) secure memory dumps of disk partitions to an image file ( image file ) or restore it. Partimage is available as free software under the GNU General Public License ( GPL). Summed over all the versions it has been downloaded over 545,000 times already from the official server, plus there is one in many Linux distributions for the default scope.

Partimage also offers the possibility of partitions over a network (LAN) to secure to another computer or restore from a remote host, provided there is a partimaged server is available. To back up images of partitions can be backed either directly or compressed by various methods.

Partimage shares dump files by default in files larger than 2 GB on, as various older file systems such as FAT16 do not allow files larger than 2 GB, this setting can, however, such as CD-R (650 or 700MB ) or for more modern file systems with higher limits, . modify Partimage also has a progress bar that displays all relevant relevant for user data, such as the size of backup image file, the of available space on the destination media or the elapsed and remaining time.
