PartnerAid

PartnerAid, in some countries known as PAI ( Partner Aid International), is a non-denominational, Christian, non-governmental, humanitarian organization.

The main concern of the work of PartnerAid is to stand up against poverty and enable disadvantaged people to improve their living situation through projects of development cooperation and emergency aid. PartnerAid is in three major thematic areas of development cooperation active: development -oriented emergency aid; Health, water and food; Education and livelihood.

PartnerAid headquartered in Neu-Anspach, Germany and has a presence through partner agencies in the Netherlands, Switzerland, UK and USA.

PartnerAid has been awarded the DZI seal.

Working principles

PartnerAid believes that all people are equal and that PartnerAid to meet each person with respect and love. PartnerAid respects people of every culture, every race, every religion, every belief, every orientation and political opinion and recognizes the importance of cultural diversity on. PartnerAid believes that one can only enter into genuine partnerships with others if one respects each other as equal.

PartnerAid signatory to the Code of Conduct for The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and NGOs in Disaster Relief, a code of conduct for professional elementary principles, the standards of good practice within the disaster response sets.

History

PartnerAid was founded in 1998 in Germany by Christians who were determined to make an active contribution to overcoming hardship and poverty in the countries of Central and South Asia. Initially, the support and assistance was provided by volunteers. Over time, the number and the size of individual projects increased. In addition, the realization dawned that the understanding of foreign cultures, lifestyles, languages ​​and religions for the creation of successful and sustainable solutions is necessary. This led to the emergence of longer project lead times and stays abroad of staff and a reorganization of the association.

So far PartnerAid has worked in more than 15 countries of Asia and Africa. Currently PartnerAid is active in 9 countries in Asia and Africa: Ethiopia, Indonesia, Yemen, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Somalia, Sudan, Tajikistan and Tanzania. In 2011, a total of 219 911 people from 5 countries of the biggest project PartnerAid with total expenditure amounting to € 2,195,192.00 benefit from the work of PartnerAid.

Work focuses on

PartnerAid is particularly keen to enable communities to overcome poverty and crises. Communities and community development, institutional development projects, emergency relief and counseling and education for the promotion of communities, in addition to advocacy for those affected important tools in the work of PartnerAid. Here, culture is viewed as a crucial key to sustainability.

Development -oriented emergency aid

PartnerAid aims to alleviate complex emergencies and the plight of the affected people in disasters, to prevent the development of dependence of those affected by humanitarian aid and enable them to lead an independent life after crises and disasters.

Health, water and food

In addition to securing medical care for people in disaster and crisis regions, disease prevention, the promotion of basic health care and water supply has PartnerAid priorities in the field of mother - and - child health care, sustainable emergency care and improving the diet of small - and school children.

Education and Livelihood

In education PartnerAid allows through its projects children enter primary school, secondary education and targeted training. Closely related to this are measures that enable the people through a sustainable income a way out of poverty. Micro-enterprise development, training and education, micro-credit, infrastructure support and advice here are the other focus of the work of PartnerAid.

Financing

PartnerAid relies on grants and donations from both individuals and institutions. PartnerAid voluntarily compiled on a balance sheet with corresponding income statement on the basis of the Commercial Code in the version of the Accounting Law Modernisation Act of 25 May 2009.

The main source of income PartnerAid in 2011 were grants and donations and membership fees (see chart ). 89.1 % of the proceeds from PartnerAid were issued for the projects; 10.9 % went into advertising and administration.

PartnerAid carries the donation seal by the German Central Institute for Social Issues.

Organization

PAI - PartnerAid International eV is a registered non -profit association recognized. Besides PartnerAid International in Germany there are the following fraternal organizations: PartnerAid UK, U.S. PartnerAid, PartnerAid NL, PartnerAid Switzerland. All PartnerAid clubs are legally independent and not financially intertwined with each other. A joint arrangement constitutes a basis for cooperation and division of labor

Bodies of the Association are the General Assembly, the Executive Board and the Supervisory Board. International programs are subject to the Board directly, however, are supported by the operations division of the office.

The professionals PartnerAid are both volunteer and full-time employees in the office and in the projects.
