Partuloidea

Partula radiolata

The Partuloidea are a superfamily of gastropods from the subordination of terrestrial snails ( gastropod ). The types of Partuloidea are located on the islands in the Pacific. Most of the species are endemic, that is, occur only on a single island.

Features

The housings are medium to large in size, shape varies from hochkonisch, over more oval to spherical. The mouth is often extended with edges turned up. Lamellae or plicae absent, but short teeth can protrude into the mouth. The sole is not divided. The pine belongs to goniognathen type; he is very thin and based on numerous flat zopfartigen structures which converge downwardly towards the center. Includes the kidneys to Orthuretra - type, is approximately triangular and is approximately twice as long as the heart sac ( pericardium ). The ureter ( ureter ) are open (as Ciliengruben ). In hermaphroditic genital apparatus of the penis is usually simple, without epiphallus; a flagellum can be present or absent. The Penisretraktor is at the top or just below the tip of the penis. The vas deferens arises below the albumin gland. The prostate is relatively small. The Spermovidukt is very short, the stem of the spermathecae, however, is relatively long.

System

The superfamily contains only two families, of which the family Draparnaudiidae is monotypic. Schileyko (1999) separates a subordination ( " infraorder " ) Partuloidei Schileyko & Starobogatov, 1988, which contains only the family Partulidae. However, it is not recognized by other authors.
