Pas de deux (Band)

Pas de deux was an experimental music project by Belgian artist Walter Verdin. The trio was next Verdin himself from the singers Dett Peyskens and Hilde van Roy.

History

Verdin was at the time of the founding of Pas de deux still an art student, but had already Specimen & The Rizikoos small successes as a musician had. In 1982, the trio released his first single, The Lonely Guys but drew little attention. In 1983, the group at the Belgian preselection for the Euro Vision Song Contest, which was organized by the Flemish TV station BRT under the title song euro 1983. First, in a semifinal round of the three contributions of the group was Hartedief - Cardio Cleptomanie, Rendez -vous and Celo chosen the song Rendez -vous for the final round. However, the group from Spain received the third highest score with eight points. The song reached the Top 30 of the Flemish sales charts and got the Zomerhit Award as Best Single of 1983. Moreover, it was the first song that was from the newly created radio station Studio Brussel, now one of the most listened to Belgian radio station played. 1983 published pas de deux their third and final single Mani meme, whose text was written in a fantasy language. Due to the lack of success to Pas de deux parted in the same year.

After the separation

Walter Verdin is now a respected video artist. Hilde van Roy works as a television journalist. Only Dett Peyskens is still active as a singer. In 2001 she joined the group Red Zebra. In addition, she starred in the films Le mur and jump with.
