Pascal Simpson

Pascal Simpson ( born May 4, 1971 in Lomé, Togo ) is a former Swedish football player who now works as a coach. The striker and midfielder came twice in the Swedish national team for use.

Career

Early years

Simpson came as a six- year-old from Togo to Sweden. There he began in 1978 at Ekerö IK playing football before he moved to the youth of IF Brommapojkarna 1984. From the second division, he moved in 1991 to the traditional club AIK in the Allsvenskan on. Under Tommy Söderberg he captured directly a regular place in the starting lineup and came on the opening day of the season 1991 in a 1-0 away win against Halmstad BK in Örjans interval to its Erstligadebüt. At the end of the regular season, he qualified with the team for the Mästerskapsserien. After due to injury problems he could no longer regularly used in his second season, the club loaned him in the fall of 2002 to Sweden at Halmstad BK. Here, he played 11 games once in the Allsvenskan and scored three goals. In the spring of 2003, he returned for the second half for FC Copenhagen, before he ended his professional career in the summer.

Start in the coaching career

After the end of his active career Simpson in 2004 went as a youth coach at his youth club IF Brommapojkarna back to Sweden. On the side of his former goal for AIK Gary Sundgren, he returned in 2006 at the amateur club FC Djursholm again as Active on the back lawn, had to drive his commitment, as he was bound to succeed Lars Zetterlund as coach of IFK Eskilstuna fourth division.
