Pasco Region

Pasco (Spanish Región Pasco Quechua Pasqu suyu ) is a region in the Central Peruvian Andes. Covering an area of ​​25,319 km ² 243 671 people ( 1996). The capital city is Cerro de Pasco, a major mining center of Peru. In the region of Pasco ( province Oxapampa ) there are some settlements which are due to the establishment of Austrian and German emigrants.
