Paseo de la Castellana

The Paseo de la Castellana is one of the main roads of Madrid, Spain. Currently, the 5.4 kilometer road on six central lanes (three in each direction), and four side tracks ( two in each direction). The Paseo de la Castellana runs ( German: Columbus Square) from Plaza de Colón in the city center to the so-called Nudo Norte ( " North Node " ) in the north of Madrid. The road course is that of a former riverbed. As part of an urban development project called Operación Chamartín (named after the northern area of ​​Madrid Chamartín ) is planned to extend the Paseo de la Castellana in the north again.

Also on the north by the road crosses one of the most important places in Madrid, Plaza de Castilla ( bordered by the towers of the Puerta de Europa ). Along the road are the Ministerialkomplex Nuevos Ministerios, the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu and the financial and shopping centers AZCA and left since 2008, the skyscraper group Cuatro Torres Business Area (former training ground of Real Madrid).
