Pasi Puistola

Pasi Puistola ( born September 16, 1978 in Tampere ) is a Finnish professional ice hockey player who stands in July 2013 in Tappara Tampere of the SM - liiga under contract.

Career

Pasi Puistola began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the junior department of Ilves Tampere, for the first team, he made his debut in the SM- liiga in the 1997/98 season. In this he was with his team at first runner-up. The defender himself could scorer with 18 points, including four goals, in 57 games also convince and received the Jarmo - Wasama Memorial Trophy as rookie of the year. After he started the 2000/01 season with Ilves, he moved within the league to Ässät Pori. For the season, he returned to his hometown of Tampere, signed there but a contract with Ilves ' city neighbors Tappara Tampere. With his new team in 2002 he was also first runner-up, before he first won in the 2002/03 season the Finnish league title with Tappara.

After Puistola had increased continuously at Tappara, he moved to the 2006/07 season for HV71 in the Swedish Elitserien. He was also successful with his team and was with the team from Jonkoping in the seasons 2007/ 08 and 2009/10 respectively Swedish Champion. He was also runner-up in 2009 with the HV71. For the 2010/11 season he was appointed assistant captain of HV71. After winning the world title with Finland, he was committed for the 2011/12 season Severstal Cherepovets of from the Continental Hockey League.

In May 2012, he received a contract with the KHL rookie HK Donbass Donetsk, for whom he completed 23 KHL games before he was hired in July 2013 of Tappara Tampere.

Internationally

For Puistola Finland took part in the junior level at the Under-20 Junior World Cup in 1998, when he won the gold medal with his team. In the senior level, he stood in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 respectively in the squad of his country at the Euro Hockey Tour and participated in the World Championships in 2010 and 2011. In the 2011 World Cup, he became world champion with his team.
