Passee

Passee is a municipality in the extreme northeast of the county Northwest in Mecklenburg -Vorpommern ( Germany ). The community is managed by the Office Neukloster - Warin based in the city of New Monastery.

Geography

The municipality Passees bordered to the north and east to the county Rostock and is located in a terminal moraine, extending from the Baltic coast in cooling Born into the area of the upper Warnow. The community is about 25 kilometers from the city of Wismar and 25 kilometers from the Rerik. The area is characterized by extensive forests, moorland and very hilly terrain. The in municipal area 118 meters high mountain Lünen is the highest elevation of the district of North West Mecklenburg. Also located in the immediate vicinity surveys ( Fuchsberg, butter mountain, mountain pass, mountain crows and sheep laundry pile ) reach heights of over 110 m above sea level. NN. A radio tower of the Telekom stands on the butter mountain.

To Passee include the districts Alt Poorstorf, Goldberg, Höltingsdorf and Tüzen.

History

Passee was first documented in 1318.

Attractions

The Gothic church in brick construction dates from the first half of the 14th century.

The National Park for rare and endangered breeds of domestic animals is an interesting tourist destination off the coast of places. Northeast of Passee is an extensive mixed forest, barrows and Slavic settlements has.

Economy and infrastructure

In the district Goldberg a sawmill is operated in the district Tüzen a gravel pit.

Transport links

Near Passee crosses the road of New Monastery after Kropelin which runs parallel to the A20 road from Wismar to Rostock.
