Pastitsio

Pastitsio (Greek παστίτσιο pastitsçɔ of Italian pasticcio < Vulgar Latin pasticium < Latin pasta ) is a typical casserole dish of the Greek cuisine.

Pastitsio is next to one of the most famous Greek moussaka casserole dishes. In the most common form, it consists of a layer of macaroni with some grated Kefalo. In comes a layer of ground beef, covered by another layer of macaroni with cheese. The top layer is a white sauce sprinkled with Kefalo.
