Pat Cortina

Pasqualino Pat Cortina ( born September 4, 1964 in Montreal, Quebec ) is a Canadian ice hockey coach.

Career

Cortina, who has Italian roots, trained, among others, the Italian national ice hockey team, the Italian Premier League Teams HC Varese and AS Asiago Hockey, 2003-2006 the Hungarian Club Alba Volán Székesfehérvár (where he won three championships in the Hungarian Hockey League ), 2006 /07 EHC München and 2007/ 08 the HC Innsbruck in the Austrian Hockey League and from 2003 to 2009, the Hungarian national ice hockey team. Hungary managed Cortina 2008, after 70 years again promoted to the A group.

2008 Pat Cortina again took over as coach at EHC München in the 2nd Hockey League. In the 2008 /09 season he succeeded with his team immediately awarded the runner-up. 2010 won his team both the DEB - Pokal as well as the championship and managed by the athletic promotion to the German Hockey League.

His contract with EHC Munich was subsequently extended to 2012 and after successfully DEL 2010/11 season with two additional years until 2014. In January 2012, Cortina was elected in AZ reader poll behind Jupp Heynckes "Munich's coach of the year 2011". 2012 Cortina was German national coach and was awarded a three -year contract. In the 2012/13 season, he was also coach of EHC Munich.
