Pat Matzdorf

Patrick " Pat" Clifford Matzdorf ( born December 26, 1949 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin ) is an American track and field athlete.

The 1.90 m wide Pat Matzdorf presented on 3 July 1971 in Berkeley, California, when countries fight the United States against the Soviet Union with 2.29 m world record in the high jump on. He thus improved compared to his previous best performance by 8 cm. He was so, however, also 5 cm superior to its second-best level, which he reached four years later.

His only victory in a major championship won Pat Matzdorf 1971 at the Pan American Games, when he won with 2.10m. For the Olympic Games to Matzdorf could never qualify.
