Pata (musician)

Pata (* November 4, 1965 in Chiba, Chiba Prefecture, Japan Tomoaki Ishizuka (Japanese石 冢 智 昭, Tomoaki Ishizuka ) ) is a Japanese guitarist.

He was one of the guitarist of Japanese rock band X Japan, which had 1982 to 1997 population and since 2007 is active again.

Biography

X Japan

In the first half of the 80s Pata played as a guitarist at various festivities and later founded the band Black Rose, which was shortly afterwards renamed Judy. Meantime, helped Pata with the band X as a guitarist for studio recordings from. As the guitarist Isao suffered a serious car accident, was Pata official member of the band, renamed in 1992 in X Japan. He played there until its dissolution in 1997 as a second guitarist. Pata was synchronous with X Japan's first guitarist hide to play guitar in the situation. During the whole time with the band he held both at concerts and in interviews very much in the background, so little is known about his life and personality.

P.a.f.

In 1998 he founded the band p.a.f. (Patent Applied For), shortly followed by an eponymous album. Bassist was Chirolyn (ex Spread Beaver ). There were two studio albums under the titles paf and p.a.f. # 0002 and released a live album called Live.

Dope Headz

Later in 2000 he founded together with former X Japan bassist heath and INA of hide's band Spread Beaver with JO: YA as a singer, the band Dope Headz. YA replaced by Shame: On 6 July 2001, the first album by Dope Headz, primitive impulses and in February 2002 became a singer JO appeared. On 24 July 2002 the second album Planet of the Dope appeared. In June 2003, the band broke up.

Ra: IN

Patas current project, which he started together with bassist Michiaki Suzuki and drummer Tetsu Mukaiyama 2002, called Ra: In. The band name was given by Masayoshi Kabe, bassist of the band Golden Cups and Pink Cloud and is the short form of the composition of rock and inspiration.

In the fall of 2003, the album The Line appeared. In the spring of 2004 had Ra: IN two small concerts in Shanghai, where they were enthusiastically celebrated by the Chinese fans. In May 2005 the band played their first concert in Paris outside of Asia. In September of the same year they finished their Summer of Love tour with a performance at the closing of the hide museum. 2006 followed the next release Before the Siren. 2007 D.I.E. admitted as a member in the band.

In 2008, the band played in the Japan Expo 2008 in Paris, in June 2009, she visited Germany for the first time and played in the Berlin magnet and in the Cologne workshop. Even after the reunion of X Japan Pata continues to play concerts with Ra: IN. 2011 the band played at the Yokohama Summer Rock Festival.

Other Activities

Like other members of X Japan also, Pata began during his time with the band or solo activities. Appeared in 1993 Patas album titled Pata. In this album he helped James Christian on vocals, Tim Bogert on bass, Tommy Aldridge on drums and keyboardist and co-producer Daisuke Hinata. 1995 saw the next album Raised on Rock, this time with Chuck Wright on bass and Ken Mari on drums.

Even while both hide and Pata played at X Japan, supported Pata his colleagues in 1994 and 1996 at his solo project with the band Spread Beaver as a guitarist. However, he remained unofficial member.

In April 2002, Pata produced the two singles around Love and Summer Day 's Drive, as well as the first album Force of Filth the indie band e.mu.

In the fall of 2002, Pata member of the backing group of musician Miyavi, which included Chirolyn (ex Spread Beaver ), Ru -ku (guitarist of Canta ) and Shinya (ex - drummer of Luna Sea ).

He played the Simple Life Music Festival in Taiwan on December 2, 2006 with the Taiwanese pop star Faith Yang.
